Ryan and Sarah’s July Bluemont Vineyard wedding was full of love, smiles and some warm summer rain!
A little backstory about Ryan and Sarah’s wedding day and how I met the family..
Six years ago when I was still living in Colorado, I met Todd and Ashleigh when they hired me to photograph their engagement session in Woodland Park. Afterwards, they so kindly asked me to photograph their Virginia wedding at the family’s vineyard in Bluemont, Virginia. How could I turn that down?!
During my time in Virginia, I met Ryan and Ashleigh’s sister, Morgan, who was also Ashleigh’s maid of honor. We hit it off immediately and at the end of the night she turned to me and said, “When I get married, you’re shooting my wedding day!”.
Three years later, we returned to Bluemont Vineyard to photograph Matt and Morgan’s wedding day. What a treat that was!
During our second visit to the vineyard, I was able to spend a little more time around Ryan and Sarah- they were really just the cutest couple! Before I left that evening, Morgan shouted- “See you at Ryan’s wedding!”. Of course I was totally flattered at the idea of photographing a third wedding for this family, but that just seemed too good to be true.
Well, two years later, when Ryan and Sarah got engaged, they asked me to return to Bluemont Vineyard for their special day. I couldn’t have been happier!
The night before, we spent some time with the couple and their families at the rehearsal dinner, held at Magnolias at The Mill in Purcellville, Virginia. Such a historic spot with some amazingly delicious fare!
It was so fun to hang out and get some quality time with the couple and their closest friends.
The next day, I met Sarah and her bridesmaids while they were getting glammed up for the day and it was so precious to spend time with the beautiful bride before the craziness of the day began. I always cherish those slower, quality moments with my brides.
Ryan was calm and cool, and just ready to get married! His calming presence was a welcomed gift.
Judging by his reaction at the altar, he’s totally smitten with his new bride and has good reason to be. She’s stunning!
Sarah and Ryan’s July Bluemont Vineyard wedding day was magical. The rain came down during their ceremony, but that didn’t slow them down a bit. Sarah’s bridal glow shone through- she couldn’t have been more stunning. The smiles on their faces were definitely not dampened by the rain.
Their reception was filled with smiles, happy tears, and some absolutely epic dancing!
We were so honored to be able to serve this family three times! Such a special memory for us.
