This Black Forest engagement session was a winter dream!

Nick and Carly are just about the cutest couple EVER!
Carly contacted me last summer about photographing her Black Forest Colorado engagement session and her wedding later this year, and of course I was so excited to be her photographer! We were able to meet up this past weekend and it was such a treat to spend some quality time with her and her soon-to-be husband Nick!

We met in Black Forest, Colorado to shoot their engagement session and my-oh-my was it chilly! The temperature was in the high 20’s but when you’re shooting on a foot of snow, in the shade, it was a lot colder than that! I was wearing boots and I could tell my toes were feeling the cold- but Carly was wearing open toe heels, so I’m not going to complain!

While we chased the evening sunshine, Carly and Nick laughed, danced, and enjoyed each other’s company. I love engagement sessions because it truly is the best way to get to know each other. Shooting a wedding is a big job and it’s so much easier to arrive on the big day ready to work when you’ve already created a familiarity with each other. In this case, I can guarantee that their wedding day is going to be a BLAST!
I had such a fun time laughing with Nick and Carly- and if the sun hadn’t set and it hadn’t been so cold, I know we would have continued shooting for a while!

They will tie the knot in Black Forest, Colorado this fall and I’m super, super excited to be there on their special day. It is truly a day I am looking forward to a lot!

As you scroll, be sure to take a peek at Carly’s ring, because WOW. Nick, you did a pretty fine job choosing that rock! 🙂

BEHIND THE LENS

ABOUT STACY

When my husband, Jeff, and I were planning our wedding, we hired a photographer whose work was beautiful. Fast forward a few months, she ghosted us. Took our money and vanished. Two months before our wedding, I'm panicking, trying to find another photographer who was available on our very popular date- 10/10/10, and whose work didn't completely suck. I was laughed at over the phone by one photographer, whose name I will withhold but will FOREVER remember. He obviously thought my desperation was amusing, but I couldn't see the humor through my enormous tears.

After having already spent our entire photography budget, I was forced to hire the only person who was left available, and for fairly cheap. He definitely over-promised + under-delivered. It was a sad experience, one I never want you to have to go through, which is why I am so passionate about ensuring my couples have the MOST amazing wedding photography experience humanly possible, with me.

If you are looking for a photographer who values YOU and your entire wedding photography experience, I'm your girl.
I will be by your side, making sure you feel totally comfy + content while you're in front of my lens. I promise your wedding day photos will be timeless, beautiful, and everything you've dreamed of.

I honestly can't wait to meet you, so get in touch and let's do this!

If you have found your way to me, it's probably because you've been searching for the right photographer, but none of the others have felt like 'the one'. I get it. I've been there, done that.
