Why Weekday Colorado Elopement Are Awesome

Weekends tend to be the natural choice for elopements and weddings, which makes complete sense. People are off of work and ready to have a good time. But that’s the main problem for couples who want to elope somewhere private.. everyone else is off and outside enjoying the views, too. So chances are, you and your fiance won’t be the only two people enjoying your dream location. This is why weekday elopements are awesome.

Here are my top 4 reasons why weekday elopements are awesome, and how they’ll benefit you!

1. Less Traffic

Let’s face it, mountain traffic in Colorado can get absolutely crazy. It’s definitely changed from when I was a kid.. You can’t go anywhere on a weekend without sitting on the interstate. You can expect to sit anywhere from 20 minutes – two hours, depending on your final destination.
Choosing to elope on a weekday will definitely eliminate a ton of mountain traffic, and that’s always a good thing.

2. Your Vendors Will Probably be Available

The chances of your fave vendors being available will be in your favor. Wedding season in Colorado peaks between May-October and vendors generally book out the year before for the larger events. So if you’re looking to hire vendors 2-4 months before your elopement date on a weekend, chances are they won’t be available. However, if your date lands on a weekday, I bet they’ll be available and really exited to book with you.

3. More Reservation Availability

Colorado has so many elopement locations, but several of them require reservations and often book up a year in advance. Rocky Mountain National Park only allows a certain number of wedding ceremonies in the park per day, so if you elope on a weekday, chances are it will be a little easier to snag your reservation!
Other locations like Lost Gulch Overlook in Boulder are a crowded mess on the weekends, but on weeknights you can expect the crowds to thin out, especially Monday- Wednesday.

4. Fewer Photobombs

Like I mentioned earlier, everyone is usually out and about on the weekends, enjoying the peace and quiet of our local lands. So if your elopement takes place in or near a popular spot, you will most likely end up with a random hiker giving a thumbs-up in the background.
I really don’t know why everyone thinks this is always funny, but I can tell you as a photographer, it gets old really fast! 🤣

In my opinion, this is one of the best reasons weekday elopements are awesome!

BEHIND THE LENS

ABOUT STACY

When my husband, Jeff, and I were planning our wedding, we hired a photographer whose work was beautiful. Fast forward a few months, she ghosted us. Took our money and vanished. Two months before our wedding, I'm panicking, trying to find another photographer who was available on our very popular date- 10/10/10, and whose work didn't completely suck. I was laughed at over the phone by one photographer, whose name I will withhold but will FOREVER remember. He obviously thought my desperation was amusing, but I couldn't see the humor through my enormous tears.

After having already spent our entire photography budget, I was forced to hire the only person who was left available, and for fairly cheap. He definitely over-promised + under-delivered. It was a sad experience, one I never want you to have to go through, which is why I am so passionate about ensuring my couples have the MOST amazing wedding photography experience humanly possible, with me.

If you are looking for a photographer who values YOU and your entire wedding photography experience, I'm your girl.
I will be by your side, making sure you feel totally comfy + content while you're in front of my lens. I promise your wedding day photos will be timeless, beautiful, and everything you've dreamed of.

I honestly can't wait to meet you, so get in touch and let's do this!

If you have found your way to me, it's probably because you've been searching for the right photographer, but none of the others have felt like 'the one'. I get it. I've been there, done that.
