When I first heard from Kate, she mentioned that she and her fiance wanted a simple ceremony with views. I was totally on board for this! Hayden and Kait had the idea to find a gorgeous spot, get dressed up, and vow their lives to one another.
Their Lost Gulch Boulder Elopement was one I’ll never forget!
It was one amazing Saturday evening, if you ask me.
I met Hayden in Boulder and together we drove up the overlook while Kate made her way with a close friend. It was so nice to have a chance to get to know Hayden a little before the ceremony. I always cherish the time when I can learn about my brides and grooms and hear their story. It always adds to the day and makes it even more special for me as their photographer.
They chose Lost Gulch Overlook in Boulder, Colorado to be THE spot. And let me say, WOW. The views from here go on and on. It’s no wonder this location is super popular with tourists and locals alike. I can’t think of a time where I’ve visited and it wasn’t crawling with people!
Thankfully, people are generally very kind and steer clear when there is a wedding ceremony happening. You’ll always hear someone yelling ‘CONGRATS!’ to the happy couple, but that only adds to the excitement of the day.
If you’re looking for a fairly private spot to exchange vows, this may not be the location for you, though. Just keep that in mind when you’re planning your special elopement!
